Guitar practice:
I am interested in the acoustic presence of the guitar, placing objects in relation to the instrument and setting the assembled elements in motion. I’m interested in finding new forms which might arise out of these acoustic scenarios and which draw into play the social spaces in which the sounds happen.
Composition:
In composition I focus on developing ways of framing musical events, emptying composition of musical material and examining form in improvisation; form understood variously as memory, gesture, habit, territory, repetition and encounter.
